Access Statement 

The comfort and safety of all our guests is of paramount importance and with this in mind we hope the following information will be useful when considering your stay with us. If you have any queries that we might help you with, please do not hesitate to contact us as we will do our utmost to facilitate access for all. 

 

The Wellsway is a four-bedroom guesthouse offering 1 Superior Double bedded Room, 1 superior King Bedded Room, 1 Large Super King / Twin Bedded Room and 1 Smaller Double Bedded Room. all Bed Rooms are En-Suit and situated on the first floor. There is a spacious Dining Room and Guest Lounge on the ground floor. Our policy of no smoking applies throughout the building. 

 

The Wellsway is approximately a 5-minute walk from Torquay railway station and approximately 1 mile from the coach station. 

 

It is a walk of about 500m to the seafront and 1500m to the town centre and harbour/marina, which is all on the level apart from an initial 15m downwards walk. A bus service is available close by with a regular bus service to the harbour/marina.

The main entrance to the property is from Bampfylde Road where there is a small slope up to a level Off Road parking area for 5 cars. 

 

The is a level walk from the car park to the front door, with a small step over the threshold and a small step into the ground floor level. 

 

Assistance with luggage is available. 

 

 

The Guest Lounge and Dining Rooms are situated on the ground floor. 

 

In the dining room menus are available in a large print, and staff will read menus for guests with limited vision. Special Dietary considerations can be catered for with prior notification, however life-threatening allergies cannot be catered for? 

 

A flight of stairs (14 steps) leads from the ground floor to a half landing where the guest toilet is situated, and a further (6 steps) to the first floor accommodation. 

 

 

All rooms have access via a fire door with a conventional key. All rooms are carpeted with en-suite facilities; showers have adjustable showerheads and are temperature controlled. Non-Slip shower mats are available. A central fire alarm is fitted with an audible alarm situated in every room, if specific emergency arrangements are required please inform the proprietors. Suitable signage with fire information is available throughout the property.
